Educational Leadership Advanced Micro-Credential Program

Program Overview

  • Program Type: Cohort-Based
  • Program Length: 35 Hours
  • Program Structure: Four courses
  • Program Access: Participants will follow a set start and end date, often determined by their school district.

The Educational Leadership Advanced Micro-Credential Program equips school leaders with the tools to build inclusive, equitable, and high-performing school communities. Rooted in current research and best practices, this program provides practical strategies to:

  • Foster collaboration among stakeholders
  • Address systemic challenges in education
  • Lead sustainable school improvement efforts

Through four targeted courses, participants will develop essential leadership competencies, including:

  • Vision-building and setting high expectations for student success
  • Ethical decision-making and fostering a culture of equity
  • Cultural responsiveness and inclusive school practices
  • Stakeholder engagement to build strong community partnerships

By completing this 35-hour advanced micro-credential, school leaders will gain the knowledge and skills to drive meaningful and lasting impact in K-12 education.

Program Structure & Course Details

To earn the advanced micro-credential, participants must complete all four of the following courses:

1. Strategies for Sustainable School Improvement

Introduction to PSEL Standard 10: School Improvement
Discover practical strategies to lead meaningful change and foster continuous improvement. Overcome resistance to change through systems thinking, coaching, and mentoring practices.

2. Building Vision, Ethics, and Capacity for Lasting Impact

Introduction to PSEL Standard 1, 2, and 6
Develop strategies to inspire inclusivity and student success through visionary leadership. Strengthen ethical decision-making and capacity-building practices that empower school communities.

3. Cultivating School Culture and Community Engagement

Introduction to PSEL Standard 3, 5, and 8
Learn practical tools to create fair, supportive, and culturally responsive school environments. Promote equity, student engagement, and academic growth through inclusive leadership practices.

4. Leadership for Equitable and Collaborative Schools

Introduction to PSEL Standard 4, 7, and 9
Build essential leadership skills in communication, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making. Foster inclusive, supportive, and accountable school environments.
